A SUMMARY

Over the past decade we've developed a successful, nature-based course, designed to equip children and teenagers to thrive in the modern world. Our experiential learning programme builds resilience, leadership and team-working abilities and helps participants develop social emotional and intelligence; all attributes that are highly valued in today's workplace. It also supports wellbeing and inner confidence, providing a much needed rite-of-passage to adulthood and helping young people find their place in the world. Sacred Earth school camps usually last for a week. They are based around a timetable of educational and development games, sensory and physical activities, bush craft, practical conservation projects and creative tasks such as crafting and making music. Students are split into clans at the beginning of their time here. This helps them learn to work together as a team, support each other and build empathy, as well as creating a sense of belonging. Sacred Earth·Nature educator & environmentalist
Hi, My name is Phil Greenwood. Sacred Earth school camps are one of the highlights of our week here, helping young people to find their place in the world. I strongly believe that young people, especially teenagers, need contemporary rites-of-passage programmes to help them grow into mature, well-adjusted adults; capable of thriving in the modern world. Our school camps do just that. Over the past ten years, we’ve developed and fine-tuned a nature-based experiential learning programme that helps students develop a range of different types of intelligence. Business and education leaders are increasingly acknowledging the importance of ‘soft skills’ like social and emotional intelligence, the ability to work as part of a team, resilience and empathy. Our school camps give young people - from ages 11 to 17 years - the chance to develop these over the course of a week by encouraging their unique creativity and purpose; building leadership skills; fostering a deep connection to the natural world and enabling them to feel part of a community.
