Nature educator & environmentalist
Join us for a fun, educational and connective Zoom call each Wednesday evening during lockdown and beyond. We'll be recalling, recording and imitating birdsong, identifying the different birds and their calls, discussing the flora and fauna we've observed on our walks, telling stories and listening to others tell theirs. Participants will be encouraged to regularly observe and record what they see in the natural world on a daily basis. Creativity will be encouraged, including drawing, painting, poetry, journalling and storytelling, inspired by nature.
About your Mentor
About your Mentor
Hello, I'm Phil Greenwood. I am the founder of Sacred Earth. I'm a former Royal Marine commando but have spent the last 20 years working with young people in outdoor education. I'm an experienced group facilitator, mentor and naturalist. I'm also part of the global 8 Shields nature mentoring movement. I strongly believe that young people need rites-of-passage programmes to help them find their place in the world. At Sacred Earth we do just that. Our programmes helps young people develop their social and emotional intelligence through a range of experiential learning programmes based at our 40-acre site near Horam, East Sussex. We encourage creativity, community, ingenuity and a deep connection with the natural world.
