What we'll do
We will be holding a 4 week football coaching course for Years 3/4/5/6 at The Grove School. The course will cover the basic aspects of the game, ensuring that all children have plenty of fun and learn new skills. The course will conclude with a 'Penalty Competition' and opportunity to win 'Player of the Course' award for a player that demonstrates a positive and excellent attitude throughout the course. The sessions will be as follows: Wednesdays Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 (October 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd) The times of the session will be from 15:15-16:30pm. All players must have: Trainers, Shinpads, playing kit, a Drink and a warm top in case of bad weather. Cost £20 All of our Coaching staff have Child Safeguarding certification and are CRB checked as well as being FA/UEFA qualified. Our lead coaches are also unique in the fact that they are all either ex professional footballers and/or have experience in coaching at professional football clubs Centre of Excellence/Academy. We take pride in providing a service that is enjoyable for all abilities and age groups as well as promoting ‘Fair Play’ and high standards of good behaviour. Places are limited and will be on a first come first served basis. For insurance purposes it is essential that parental consent online booking form is returned before start of course. We will use an indoor facility for extremely poor weather conditions.

We work with Local Authorities to provide youngsters with the best possible opportunities during the Summer, Christmas and Easter school holidays. We host an Active programme which we have named 'Fit and Fed' that includes a wide range of sports and activities along with a daily healthy meal. The primary aims of the programme are to reduce isolation and ‘holiday hunger' for children aged 5 to 14 years who are in receipt of benefit based Free School Meals (FSM). We offer age-appropriate physical fun and enriching activity that provide children with an opportunity to develop new skills or knowledge, to consolidate existing skills and knowledge, or to try out new experiences, and one element of nutritional education aimed at improving children’s knowledge and awareness of healthy eating on every day and with food education for families and carers. The scheme has been heavily influenced by Premiership footballer Marcus Rashford. To add extra value to children that attend we also include enrichment activities that can include Sea safety, Internet safety, Nutrition/cooking workshops, Guest speakers, tickets to football matches etc..
