A summary
For ages: 4 - 25 years EHCP and parent/carer session Climb Quest has been awarded funding from Milton Keynes City Council to deliver sessions for Short Breaks, which are designated for families and carers of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs. To be eligible for for this Short Break activity, the child or young person must: be between 04 and 25 years and have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). Only participating children or young people from 4 to 25 years need to have a ticket. Parent or carers are required to stay with their child or young person and are not required to have a ticket. Climb Quest Milton Keynes is a ‘fun’ climbing centre, with over 20 amazing looking walls that really motivate people of all ages, 4 years plus, to try. What makes it work so well for young climbers is that the walls are set up to be inclusive for all, regardless of physical ability or confidence level. The session lasts 90 minutes and consists of a 30 minute safety briefing, 55 minute climbing session and 5 minutes at the end to de-harness. The climbing experience will include a go on both of our Extreme Challenges (the Vertical Drop Slide and Stairway to Heaven), and climbers will receive a certificate at the end of the experience. We have assistance climbing hoists for climbers with physical disabilities. You can let us know on the booking form, if you think your child would benefit from this. Siblings can also join in so all your children can experience the activity together although they also MUST have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). No specialist equipment is required and our friendly instructors will be on hand to support and guide your children throughout the session. Parents feel an amazing sense of pride seeing their children develop in confidence over their climbing session.
Supervision
Parent or carers are required to stay with their child or young person and are not required to have a ticket. We have trained SEND staff members who will support the attendees.

Children will leave with a real sense of accomplishment and the session will host valuable learning and development outcomes, particularly around confidence building.
