A summary
This activity is aimed at our teens to learn basketball skills. The session includes a warm up followed by practising different drills, along with a friendly match. We encourage leadership skills by having captains of the teams who choose their players. This promotes positive relationships, unity and healthy competition. The DSDT plans to build up the skills in our young people with the goal of competing with other teams in the special Olympics, for those who would like to participate. This session is open to all abilities. We include different opportunities within this session to support young people of all confidence levels. Some parents stay and watch to enjoy the action, and other parents utilise the rest of the leisure centre facilities whilst their young person is enjoying fun and fitness, being supported by our staff.
