A summary
APF has been awarded grant funding from Milton Keynes City Council to deliver sessions for the Holiday Activities and Food Programme, for children in receipt of benefit-related Free School Meals (FSM), during the Winter school holidays in 2023/24. What is a Special Needs Camp? These camps cater for children and young adults who require a specific type of care due to a learning need or disability. We provide a stimulating experience to those with learning and emotional needs, as well as physical and mental disabilities. This includes communication and interaction, Social and emotional mental health difficulties (SEMH, cognitive learning difficulties and sensory and/or physical needs including ADHD and Autism. TIMES OF THE DAY Parents can book short days of 4 hours from 2nd-5th January. SEND/EHCP plans To be eligible to attend these camps, your child will need a SEND plan or an Education, Health and Care plan, also known as an EHCP. Upon booking your child onto camp, we ask that you send us a copy of their EHCP so that we can have a better idea of their needs and how best to support them. THE CAMPERS The ratio of staff to campers is usually higher on these camps, due to the personal care and attention that the campers will require. Children get to form amazing bonds with other campers - which provides a unique and rewarding experience. Parents can book 121 provision or small group provision. ACTIVITIES The Multi-Activity programme fits into 3 main areas and timetabling allows students to experience at least one activity from each these per day: ·EXTREME (Archery, Sumo Suits, Zorb Football, our Inflatables, offer risk taking and character development and a better understanding of how to keep safe. SPORTS (Football, Dodgeball, Basketball, Badminton, Tennis, Rugby and Rounders) improve and enhance skill development and resilience among learners. ARTS AND CRAFT (clay modelling, paper mache frames, painting and drawing) sessions are carefully thought out to make sure they’re age appropriate for each group at camp.

Glen Morgan
Sports Coach
Goal orientated who wants to succeed in everything I do. Not afraid to put the work in and not afraid to fail. Determination is the key success and small failures make us stronger to succeed. My objective is to further my career within an industry that is rewarding and team orientated, thus continuing to promote the social well being of others. I would establish and follow appropriate guidelines for the education of others and ensure their personal needs are met. In doing so providing a healthy, safe and secure environment for my colleagues to learn. My goal is to encourage each individual in his/her developmental growth by providing an environment that encourages learning through action, inquiry and exploration assisting to gain better control and understanding. I want to promote a good self image in each individual by providing an environment that encourages independence, decision making, and problem solving. In essence fostering an appreciation for the ethnic and cultural diversity. I want to teach people discrimination in any form, will not be tolerated and promote a cooperative, informative, and respectful relationship with families and peers alike. I am a dedicated individual and I like a job role where I can make a difference in people’s lives. I would like to help them to better themselves and promote social inclusion as the way forward

Bubbly and supportive mentor
I absolutely love working with children, I have previously worked as a covid tester in schools and as a leader of a summer school. All this further aided in making me want to help children have an amazing time!
Our SEND camps
Our camps are specifically designed to boost skills and allow your loved ones to interact with other kids and adults in a safe and nurturing environment. We offer specialised programs that focus on the skills that don’t get that much attention during the school year like building basic social, cognitive, sensory, and communication skills to help promote self-advocacy and confidence naturally. But most importantly, these camps help your loved ones make memories that will last a lifetime.
Learning aims
Aim 1
Experience success and become more confident – APF camps helps children build self-confidence by removing the kind of academic, athletic and social competition that shapes their lives at school. Camp teaches kids that they can.
Aim 3
Spend your day being physically active – As children spend so much time these days inside and mostly sitting down, camp provides a wonderful opportunity to move. Running…..jumping…….climbing all help you to be more healthy.
Aim 5
Develop resilience – The kind of encouragement and nurture children receive at APF makes it a great environment to endure setbacks, try new things, and see that improvement comes when you give something another try. Camp helps conquer fears.
Aim 2
• Develop friendships – Camp is the place where children make their very best friends. Free from the social expectations pressuring them at school, we encourage children to relax and make friends easily. All the fun at camp draws everyone together— singing, laughing, talking, playing, doing almost everything together.
Aim 4
Have free time for unstructured play – Free from the overly-structured, overly-scheduled routines of home and school, life at camp gives children much needed free time to just play…….relax, laugh, and be silly all day long. At camp we play!
Aim 6
Develop life-long skills – at APF, we provide the right instruction, equipment and facilities for children to enhance their sports abilities, their artistic talents, and their adventure skills. The variety of activities offered at camp makes it easy for children to discover and develop what they like to do.
Who can we support?
We cater for many SEND needs including: 1) Communication and Interaction Speech, Language, and Communication Needs and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). 2) Cognition and Learning Moderate learning difficulties.
