A summary
We've been running holiday clubs for years now and we have earnt a reputation for putting together inclusive, fun and memorable clubs for children. Our vision is to deliver programmes that bring the best out of your children through new experiences and new skills, while giving your children the supportive and fun environment to want to come back again and again. Our range of activities include crochet, origami, self defence, netball, baking, smoothie making, calligraphy and more. And this time round we have invited Zoolab in to give your children an experience to hold and get up and close to crawly insects like tarantulas, snakes and more. Over 95% of parents and students fed back that they would attend our future clubs. Many parents gloated that for the first time their children gave them no trouble getting ready for the club because they enjoyed it so much. HAF clubs are inclusive for children with low levels of SEN and/or disability, who can participate in universal settings. We also have specialist programmes for those children and young people who require specialist support. Each Club will assess their suitability to provide sufficient support, based on your child/young person’s needs, on a case-by-case basis. We have limited spaces to join now to ensure you don't miss out.

About your mentor
Empower Youth
Give your child a memorable holiday period.
Empower Youth (previously The Arabic College) is a dedicated grassroots organisation operating across East London. Our mission is to support children from underprivileged backgrounds in areas where social and financial deprivation are significant challenges. We achieve this through our Local Authority sponsored holiday clubs for children (HAF programmes). These clubs offer a range of enrichment activities, fun trips, and health and nutrition workshops, along with providing hot meals. The children, who are in receipt of free school meals, can join for free and access experiences they may not otherwise have during the summer, winter, and Easter school holidays. We've achieved enormous success since the start of the 2023 academic year, Empower Youth has: - Reached 883 students - Provided 444 hours of contact time - Served 12,960 hot meals to disadvantaged children We continue to provide engaging and fun holiday clubs with the focus on providing our students with new experiences and life-long skills. These include experiences on the water, ice skating, kayaking, fairplay house, snow camp and much more.
Inclusivity and SEND
The HAF programme provision and activities are inclusive of all children and young people, including those who may have Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND). For a child/young person with SEND needs, our universal club will need to assess suitability with you, there are also other specialist SEND provisions we can sign post to you.

Our Staff
The success of our programmes is mainly due to the quality of our staff. Our staff are handpicked for their experience and their love of working with children. During our Summer programme, all the students that completed our end of programme survey rated our staff as "Excellent" for their professionalism and friendliness. To ensure that your children get the best level of care and are safe at our provision, we ensure that each member of staff is DBS qualified and has completed at least Level 1 safeguarding training when working with children. We also ensure there is sufficient staff that are first aid trained so they can see to any medical concerns. But most importantly, all our staff love working with children and seeing them grow to be the best version of themselves. And as a Management Team, we provide the best environment and culture for our staff to bring their best selves to work.
