A summary
Join us at Halesworth Library this winter holiday for Sonic Self: A Creative Technologies Workshop with Natalie Whitney Fri 03 Jan 2025 09:45 - 15:30 - including a free lunch, drinks and snacks! For 10-16 year olds. Alongside artist Natalie Whitney, explore identity with creative technologies and crafting in this one day workshop. We’ll dive into what makes you uniquely you by experimenting with creative technologies and sensory materials. You’ll use a blend of drawing, collage, sound-making, and interactive tools to create multi-sensory collages that reflect your identity. As we collaborate, we’ll join our creations together, building a sensory sculpture that shares a story of our collective identity. The wellbeing of our young people is really important to us and time outdoors is a key part of that. With this in mind, where possible a short walk or time outdoors will be incorporated into the workshop days. This will be supervised by the staff running the workshops and will also be weather dependent. Please ensure your child has a coat and sensible footwear! If your booking is made within 72 hours of the workshop, we may not be able to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Please get in touch with the library location for the workshop to discuss options. Please note that whilst we welcome all young people, our staff are not specifically SEND trained. This workshop is for 10-16 year olds only. If you feel your child requires additional support in the form of adult attendance in order to access this workshop, contact us by emailing katie.puls@suffolklibraries.co.uk. Where I belong.
We’re the independent charity that runs Suffolk’s library service. We nurture children’s literacy, support vulnerable people and promote wellbeing across Suffolk.
Nat

Nat is an audio-visual participatory artist working with creative technologies to construct interactive, sensory objects and spaces that invite curiosity and play. They believe play and co-creative spaces are incredibly important and that creative technologies are powerful tools for inquiry, learning and collaboration. They have facilitated spaces using creative technologies in playful ways with artists, students, families and early years across the East.

Laughter is the best medicine.
Now a library and Information Advisor, I have previously worked with children for 30 + years. I have worked with all ages and more recently in the Health visiting service with babies and toddlers. I love to engage with children and believe that all work should be made fun.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
