Summer Adventure Camp is an Ofsted Registered Childcare provider. We offer a range of Adventurous activities. HAF places are funded by the Department for Education and eligible children and young people will be able to enjoy a programme of enriching activities, as well as have a free nutritional meal as part of the programme.
What to bring.
What should my child bring? Children should dress in comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather with suitable footwear, example trainers (most activities will continue even in the rain so a good coat is a must). We suggest you do not send them with new or valuable clothing or belongings. Long trousers and sleeves are essential, long sleeves are also required for archery.  All clothing and belongings should be named. Please provide and apply sun protection cream each morning, we ask that you show your child how to do this before they attend camp. Spray on sun lotion is a good option for younger children as the staff can do this for them and the children can then rub in themselves. Staff will remind children at break times to apply sun cream and help younger ones if needed. It is also a good idea to send a broad-brimmed hat that shades the face, neck and ears. All children should bring a lunchbox to camp, however, as we do not have refrigeration facilities at the camps, we suggest you provide a small cool bag (lunch box size) containing a frozen carton of juice or a small ice pack. This will keep the contents cold until lunchtime. In addition to their lunch drink we also ask that they bring a water bottle for use on activities. What shouldn’t my child bring to camp? We strongly advise that children don’t bring mobile telephones, watches, computer games, ipods and such like on to camp. There is no real use for these items and they are often mislaid as children are busy and excited doing other things. Our staff will not to put themselves in a difficult position by taking care of such items and we cannot accept responsibility if they are lost or stolen. Due to health and hygiene reasons, we are unfortunately unable to allow any birthday cakes (or any other food treats) to be brought onto camp to be shared with the groups. What if my child has difficulty settling at camp? We ask that you allow a little bit of extra time on the first day to fill in any paperwork and talk to the camp manager, this also gives some time to allow your child to settle in with you there. Some children do have first day worries but our staff are experienced at dealing with children in these situations and most children quickly forget about their worries and start thinking about the Adventure. Having a friend also book on camp so your child has someone they know is a great way to ensure that they settle in quickly. My child has a specific medical condition / medicine. You will have informed us on the booking form of any medical conditions, however if there are any changes please let us know. On the first day our camp manager will check all the details with you at drop off and this is an ideal time to let us know how we can best help your child. What if my child is ill or has an accident at camp? Don’t worry we are well prepared and all of our staff are First Aid qualified. Fortunately almost everything we have to deal with are grazes on knees, stings and so on. However should a child suffer a more serious injury or fall ill at camp you will be contacted immediately. We will check that we have the correct contact information for you on the first day. If your child is ill on the morning of camp please contact us. If your child has a fever / vomiting / diarrhoea we can not take them on camp for 48hrs after the last symptoms. Collecting your child Please collect your child by 4pm. If you’re likely to be delayed after your expected time, please call the camp so our staff can let your child/ren know. You will be given the Camp Manager phone number on the first day.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
