What we'll do
Drama Kids Sussex is providing Summer Theatre School back by popular demand. At our holiday clubs we all come together for warm -ups, some fun theatre games and activities. Drama Kids Sussex are then generally split into 2 groups depending on age to work separately on our show and scenes, specially written for them. Everyone is involved and no one sits on the sidelines, waiting! We will be doing a full performance at the end of the week. It is all about fun and having a good time.. There's an opportunity for EVERYONE to participate in dance routines and songs if they wish! As well last the free HAF places we also will accept Self Pay students. There will be a free performance for the families to come to watch on the final day. DK Juniors ages 6-10 & DK Youth Theatre ages 11-16 Summer Theatre School will comprise drama, acting , singing, dance with a professional choreographer, craft and prop making, costumes, lights and music! You must apply for all 5 days. HAF children will receive a free lunch. Self-pay children can purchase lunch. Please message us if you would like this. A few T&Cs from Brighton & Hove City Council: • Eligibility criteria – Brighton & Hove HAF funded places are for children and young people in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. • Limits on bookings – Over the summer, Eequ will permit each eligible participant to be booked on to 16 HAF places across all providers in the city. If a session is not attended, HAF places cannot be added back on to an individual’s allocation, regardless of reason. It is therefore important that sessions are cancelled before the activity starts, and ideally giving a minimum of a few days’ notice where possible to allow other children to benefit. Bookings can be managed by the Booker by logging into Eequ and reviewing their Schedule.
About your mentor

Development through drama
Drama Kids & Dk Youth Theatre  is much more than a drama school.Principle Gareth and his team promote a friendly, diverse and inclusive family where every student is welcome and encouraged to make huge strides in self-confidence whilst working at their own pace. In our professionally run classes, children of all ages learn how to act, interact and – most importantly – feel good about being themselves, supported by an internationally recognised curriculum. We mainly run after school 1 hour classes and holiday clubs and also adult groups and corporate communication and voice training and CPD on request… well, why should anyone miss out on all the fun? You’ll find us in schools and arts venues across East and West Sussex.
Lunch
Lunch is provided free and you will be able to provide allergy and dietary information during the checkout process. We will be providing a picnic style lunch such as sandwiches, pasta, fruit, snacks etc.
Learning aims
Aim 1
One of the greatest life skills we can teach our kids is to communicate confidently. This is why drama is such a valuable tool in preparing them to be all they can be in the world.
Aim 3
Movement Physical expression, miming to music, and a bit of dance –though no dancing shoes are required. As well as improving their coordination, students learn to feel good in their own bodies, improve their posture and hold their own in a social and creative space.
Aim 2
Speech Our strong focus on verbal dynamics and English language helps students to develop a clear, compelling voice and good listening skills. Immensely useful stuff, whether they’re expressing themselves on a public or theatrical stage.
Aim 4
Drama We stimulate creativity through structured improvisation, dialogue, characterisation, snippets, scene starters, and acting out original scripts as an ensemble. This practice goes beyond stage skills, helping kids to socialise and overcome shyness in groups.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else. You cannot cancel within 3 days of the club starting and you must book all three days

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
