What we'll do

Wild Tribe is an outdoor play session in a wide, open outdoor space with trees, mud kitchen, sand pit and other activities. We have a compost toilet and a bell tent as well as various swinging and climbing options to explore. We have a garden where we are growing food, bird feeders and a hedgehog house in our field. We can visit the horses and chickens on the farm from time to time too. There is no pressure to join in with any activities and as children express their interests we can work with them to achieve their goals. Wild Tribe focusses on building connections with one another, freedom to play and explore outside. Children are free to choose from various swinging, climbing, digging, exploring, cooking, balancing, craft and group game activities with plenty of space to run. We focus on a holistic approach, nurturing children's mind, body and spirit, so children feel more balanced, happy and content whist getting their much needed time outside in nature, having fun with new friend...

Vicki CM·Creative Mamma and Outdoor Adventurer
Qualified and insured Level 3 Forest School Leader and a Home educating Mum, I am passionate about getting children and adults outside and allowing them to explore and learn at their own pace. I run participant led sessions outside often involving cooking something over a fire! I have 3 boys who are all home educated and involved in the sessions with us. We have been attending forest school sessions as a family since we started home educating 9 years ago. I have worked with children and adults in the outdoors in a number of different capacities and love the forest school ethos of participant led sessions and community building in an outdoors environment.

What you'll need

Come dressed in suitable clothing for the British weather – lots of layers are best. Thick trousers, vest (base layer) long sleeved top, jumper, thick waterproof coat and waterproof trousers are ideal in the late autumn, winter and early spring. Even in the summer long trousers and closed shoes will protect from nettle stings. Sturdy shoes/boots suitable for mud and climbing trees are good. Having a hat, gloves, scarf, spare jumpers and socks in your bag means you can be flexible even if the weather changes. Long hair needs to be tied up for safety if using tools or to be by the fire. It is worth packing a change of clothes for younger children. We provide hot drinks and a small snack, please bring along enough lunch and drinks for the day.
