What we'll do
Spring Fun at Eastmoor brings four days of exciting activities for children aged 5–11. This time, our programme will focus on animals and nature in spring, using the hedgehog as a key learning theme. Children will explore topics such as hibernation, how animals survive the winter, and the environmental changes that signal the arrival of spring. Children will have fun developing their crafting skills, including creating a large display for our special visitors from Prickly Edge Hedgehog Rescue, who will tell us about their work and share fascinating facts about hedgehogs. Sports activities will help children let of steam, build teamwork, self-esteem, and an understanding of healthy lifestyles. It will be delivered by the fantastic Andy and Paula from Evergreen Active. We will also visit Cannon Hall Farm, where children will have the opportunity to meet a range of animals, including spring lambs, develop their observation skills, and gain an understanding of animal life cycles. We will welcome visitors from Wakefield Libraries, who will deliver creative craft sessions and fun brain-training activities — and much more! Light breakfasts and lunches will be provided free of charge each day from our community café.
