What we'll do

Come and cook our fresh, biodynamic seasonal bounty with ayurvedic, plant-based Chef Nina Green. Nina will teach you all about seasonal eating for the transition of fall into winter, will guide you through the basics of intuitive cooking and the introduction of the 5-elements-kitchen. You will find out about how to boost your immunity during the colder months, how to keep your digestive fire well stoked and stay balanced and suitably nourished while learning some new, inspiring plant-based recipes. The morning will start with Head gardener Stephen Mills with whom we will be harvesting the fresh produce directly on the farm. We will then process our seasonal bounty into fermented frenzy, transform it into delicious seasonal dishes, and finally will get to enjoy it for our communal lunch. It is safe to say, that there is not one perfect diet, as we are all different; different bodily constitutions, mindsets and we all come from and/or live in different climatic and cultural habitats. In Ayurveda we say, that one person’s medicine can be another person’s poison. Of course there are things that benefit all of us but the question always is the right balance. Nina's cooking sessions are a chance to find out together that innate balance for you. Nina's formal education spans from art history and European languages at Bath University to Anthropology and the study of human cultures at  University of Cambridge. She is a professionally trained Ayurvedic chef (completed at the European Academy of Ayurveda) with further enriching research of Ayurveda and its contemporary relevance taught by wonderful teachers such as the very accomplished Dr. Vasant Lad,  Dr. Kalyani Nagersheth, an expert in using Western herbalism in applying to Ayurvedic treatments and various immersions into ethnobotanic studies. Nina works as a personal chef, at retreat and organises her own fire cooking events while also very much enjoying teaching people about intuitive cooking at her workshops.
