What we'll do
Ever wanted to camp under the stars in the mountains? Now's your chance! This is suitable for beginners and seasoned wild campers. You will need a good level of fitness as the hike will be hard and hilly and be able to carry all your kit. Along the walk you will see old mining villages and workings and hear some interesting history about Welsh mining. We start around mid day on the Saturday and walk up the steep incline to the mines, through a beautiful mossy woodland area and on up to an abandoned village. Here you will see where the workers lived and worked. It’s a very remote and rugged area with very few other walkers. We then walk along an old track to a lake where we will set up camp for the night. You will get a chance to have a look in a mine if you want to and walk through a tunnel in the landscape! The walk itself is steep to start with on the Saturday but then flattens out for the rest of the day. Sunday is a walk back the way we came after a night in your tents. We aim to...
