What we'll do

We are delighted to be part of the Brighton Science Festival October 2022. Hands-on Experiments to bring science to life. ⚡ Learn about the electricity within the human body. Find out how we use it to operate some of our favourite electrical devices – smartphones, tablets, iPads and touchscreens. We take apart the tech to show you what is inside. ⚡ Why can’t you use your smartphone when you’re wearing gloves? Get hands-on and discover for yourself. ⚡ What is static electricity? Why is it sometimes good and sometimes bad? Enjoy more experiments to learn all about it. We make complex science simple enough for all ages and abilities. Think levitation is just for Harry Potter? Think again!

Victoria Bharj·On a mission to bring science to life for children
I have enjoyed over 20 years' experience of teaching, tutoring and educating and it is a real privilege to be part of any student’s learning journey. I believe it is as important to build a person's confidence and resilience as it is to help them learn a skill. Children learn when they're having fun. I want to provide a rich environment where everyone can learn at their own pace. My biggest achievement is not my formal qualifications, but having taught my own children at home. All three are now in their 20s and make me proud every day.

What is STEM?

STEM is science, technology, engineering and maths. In our ever-changing world, problem-solving is a vital skill for the inventors, scientists, engineers, architects and designers of the future. Children have the best imaginations and we aim to nurture their interest so one day they can become the people who create things we now think are impossible. This form of blended learning helps children build connections between the subjects and encourages curiosity and creativity. It embeds educational activities in real-life contexts, so children learn because they are interested and engaged, not because they have to. Children who do not flourish in a traditional classroom setting are often the most talented at problem solving, but their intelligence is not always recognised. In our STEM workshops, every child is free to offer ideas and opinions, think differently, make mistakes, start again. STEM helps children to develop: * Critical thinking * Problem solving * Effective communica...
