What we'll do

Our engaging and enriching MAKE 'n BREAK COMPUTERS workshops are aimed at 8-14 year olds and run for 8 hours between 9am and 5pm. PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE 2 DATES AVAILABLE - 25th and 26th AUGUST. THE SAME CONTENT WILL BE RUN ON EACH DAY. Computer Building - Our Make n' Break Computers workshops allow children to build and programme a fully working computer with no prior knowledge or experience of electronics or computing. We begin by overviewing the origins of TinyBASIC and the history of home computers. Then participants will build their very own computer from the bare components. After testing the electrical circuits and connecting a keyboard and screen, participants will then complete a series of programming exercises on their new computer. The class can then build an electronic game controller to use with their computer. Learning aims

Get Making! - Our Make n' Break Computers workshops allow children to build and programme a fully working computer with no prior knowledge or experience of electronics or computing. Our unique computer building kits are created with simplicity and health and safety in mind. They do not use heat or chemicals, use only ceramic capacitors and can be put together without the need for soldering. All attendees will receive a printed certificate to commemorate their achievement.
