A summary

A 3-day outdoor programme of nature-based activities from forest crafts to campside cooking – firing up imaginations and boosting confidence. We're set in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, where our broadleaf woodland nestles next to a meadow of soft wild grasses. Here children can enjoy the freedom of the woodland to play, learn and explore, forest school-style, soaking up the magic and benefits that nature has to offer. Days run 10am to 4pm. We provide refreshments and a home-cooked meal prepared together in the outdoors. Two date options are available: Week 1 Tuesday 16 – Thursday 18 August Week 2 Tuesday 23 – Thursday 25 August This is a 3-day camp so please select all 3-days in your chosen week.

Wild & Green Forest School ·Forest School Leader
Wild & Green is run by Louise Burton and Paul Mepham of Crowborough. We are a small limited company with a community ambition. We employ professional instructors and operate with a high adult:child ratio for the best quality experiences. Louise is a qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader. She is also a highly experienced events professional, producing experiences ranging from small workshops to large-scale outdoor public events and festivals. For our HAF nature camp we are joined by Kevin Button, Forest School leader and young person's mentor, and Cessally Collison, children’s yoga teacher. We're supported by Paul, a very sensible adult and wonderful storyteller. We have a beautiful woodland site with great amenities, where we run our popular 3-hour nature holiday clubs for 5 – 11s. We also collaborate with other practitioners to host well-being events. In September 2022 we will launching Wild Tots, a stay-and-play for pre-schoolers and their carers. What we'll do

We offer a range of activities to encourage children to stretch beyond their comfort zone, build body awareness and inspire creativity. One day builds on the next, and each day will typically include: • Natural crafts and outdoor art • Campfire cookery • Wild play, slackline, dens, hammocks • Messy play and mud kitchen (yes they still love this at 10!) • Fun games, challenges and stories • Yoga stretch and mindfulness • Time to chill and chat around the camp fire

Learning aims

Make new friends, learn a new skill, have loads of fun.

Important Info

What to wear Please send them dressed for the weather. There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing! The secret is old clothes and layers – plus waterproofs; and on the flip side, sunhats, suncream (please apply sun cream before you drop them with us.) Long sleeves, trousers and enclosed footwear are a must all times though – these offer protection from abrasions and grazes, sunburn and ticks. We ask parents to understand that children may get wet and muddy! What to bring Please send them with a snack from home and a water bottle. We will also provide top up snacks and water will be available throughout the day. Drop off / pick up Drop of is at 10am sharp in St John’s Church car park, St John’s Road, Crowborough, TN6 1RZ. The team and I will be there to meet you and register the children. We’ll assemble them as a group, then do the short walk ( 3 mins) to the Forest School site, through our woods - we have a gate leading directly from the Church car park. Pleas...
