A summary

A one-night micro-adventure in a beautiful woods near London for teenagers & their fathers (or grandfathers). Join a small group of fathers & teens to celebrate the summer solstice together and have a wild ‘bivvy’ adventure. KEY INFO Date: Saturday 18th June 2022, 12pm - Sunday 19th June 2022, 3pm Camp location: Tim’s woods (insert google maps link) Group: Up to 8 x fathers + teens (any gender) Start: Paddington station, Saturday at midday End: Paddington station, Sunday at 3pm Cost: £150 per father + £50 per child (Bursaries available) THE EXPERIENCE Fatherhood and teenagehood - two testing life stages! Parents can get busy with work, easily triggered, struggle to keep up in a fast-changing world, and sometimes need some TLC. Teenagers can feel increasingly distant and/or are pretty busy doing their own thing (this is biologically necessary by the way! Come to the camp and we’ll explain…). About your Mentor

Max

Max has a passion for guiding groups in wild locations. He is a qualified Mountain Leader and wilderness rites of passage guide, having trained with the School of Lost Borders. He spent 3 years growing The Outward Bound Trust’s outdoor learning programmes with over 100 schools across Greater London. Every year he runs the Forest Family Camp, helping urban families explore collaborative community living and deepen their connection to nature. When not outdoors climbing, mountaineering, snowboarding or running, he runs The Visionaries CIC. Through this work he supports educators and young people to enquire deeply into how to create more life-enhancing education practices that put liberation, health, nature and community at the heart. He is a Trauma & Mental Health Informed Schools Practitioner and has worked in school development for 6 years since graduating from the Year Here social innovation fellowship, where the idea for the The Visionaries was seeded.
