A summary
The class includes 3 warm-ups. We learn and practice different street/hip-hop each week to build up our fitness and stamina. Corner work and travelling steps across the floor. In the summer every two years there's a performance that we work towards all year round. We perform in a theatre with lights and costumes. We also do a watch week every now and again. The biggest aim is to have fun! Dancing teaches determination, coordination and precision. The sense of being part of a team is a wonderful feeling whatever your age. Dancing builds self-confidence and it's a great way to stay fit and improve health. Dance has an outstanding positive effect on both physical and psychological well-being.

What you’ll need
Drinks Please bring a drink bottle, students can help themselves to water from the kitchen. Uniform Dance Uniform is designed to be a safe and practical outfit for your child to dance in. Having a dress code cuts down on distractions in the classroom and allows the teacher to see a dancers alignment and posture in order to make corrections. Wearing a uniform creates a sense of unity and belonging within the studio. Feeling like part of one big dance family creates a sense of pride and is a wonderful way for students to strive to be the best dancer they can be and show support for their peers. When all students are wearing a uniform, it prevents cliques or little groups forming as students feel they are part of one big team rather than smaller friendship circles. For this group we would like the children to wear:- Comfortable trousers, leggings or sports trousers, t-shirt or Jewel Performers t-shirt and comfortable trainers.
