What we'll do
Join us for free play in our new mud and craft area, where you can try your hand at making natural potions! You can swing in the trees, climb on the ropes, lay in the hammock, try our short pumpkin trail, search for bugs under the log piles and a choose between making a magic wand or spiderweb. We will end the session with a campfire and marshmallow toasting. Please dress up in your best halloween costume if you'd like to - but remember your water bottle, wellies and waterproofs! *Please arrive no earlier than ten minutes before the start time. *Meet behind the snack van. *If you or your child are experiencing any Corona Virus symptoms 24 hours before you visit, then please do not come to the session. NB photos will be taken at our sessions for social media. No child's name would be used in any instance. Please advise us when you arrive if you do wish to appear in any photos.

About your Mentor
Many years ago I started out at agricultural college studying conservation and environmental studies with land management. Fast forward 25 years and I'm also a qualified primary school teacher and Level 3 Forest School Leader with a child of my own 2 dogs and a cat. I teach in school part time and spend the rest of the week with my son and Leafy Learners. Most recently I have renewed my first aid qualification and gained my food and hygiene certificate (aimed at cooking outdoors). I belong to the Forest School Association and regularly attend CPD events to keep up to date with forest school ideas and ways of working and learning. I've always been a lover of the outdoors and a believer that when we truly connect with nature, we begin to understand ourselves. I spend a lot of my free time outside, walking with my partner, our blended family and our dogs. Can I park easily for this group? Yes, there is plenty of free parking at the venue. Is there a toilet? Yes, there is a toilet behind the Footgolf shop. Can I get a hot drink or food? Yes, the snack van will be open. Do I need something to sit on? A picnic blanket or camping chair is ideal for craft, though there are logs to sit on. What should we wear? We would recommend that you wear long trousers (wellies when wet) and sturdy shoes for both adults and children. Always pack a raincoat or wear waterproofs. Is there handwashing at the woods? Yes, we will have mobile handwashing to rinse off any mud before snacks. We will also have plenty of hand sanitiser. Will I be in photos? We usually take photos at our sessions for our social media. If you do not wish yourself or your child to appear in any materials please advise us when booking or on arrival to the session .
