What we'll do
During our Summer Play scheme we will be offering a fun and exciting 4 weeks of activities with a team of enthusiastic and qualified staff. We will offer a variety of activities including physical activities, performing arts, creative activities, cookery sessions, gardening sessions, health and well being sessions. Alongside our fun filled sessions we will offer 4 day trips (location to be confirmed) and a residential to Play away's Skipton were children and young people have the opportunity to experience a holiday that entails outdoor pursuits, tending to animals at the onsite farm, water sports, access to cinema room and other opportunities.

Netherley Youth and Community Initiative
NY&CI is a charity based within Netherley
Netherley Youth and Community Initiative celebrates its 30th birthday this year and continues to enable members residing in Netherley and its surrounding areas, irrespective of age and social exclusion to participate in activities. The aims and objectives of the charity are to provide social welfare recreation, educational opportunities and leisure provisions in the community with a view to improving the quality of living.
NY&CI Summer Play scheme 2024
NY&CI will be working from a temporary premises within Belle Vale Primary School. We have two sessions per day Monday to Friday Am- session 10-12.30 Pm- Session 1.30-4.00 We provide Lunch and evening meal (one of which will be hot) with snacks. Day trips are accessible to children that access the sessions and will be on first come first served basis. Timetables can be accessed via our website www.nyci.co.uk or social media platforms.

Aim 1
Our aims during Play scheme is to create a fun, safe and enabling environment for children and young people to learn, thrive and play.
Aim 2
Create a program that supports physical movement, allowing children and young people to gain knowledge on how physical movement can support their health and well being.
Aim 3
Offer sessions to educate children and young people on nutrition and how to create well balanced meals, healthy recipes and grow your own vegetables.
