Sam
Proud football Dad and sports mentor
Hey guys, I'm Coach Sam. I'm a passionate sports mentor and a proud father to my beautiful 9 year old son, Joshua. Sport has always been a huge part of my life and now it means even more to me as I see the joy, confidence and life skills it brings to children through my own son’s journey. Growing up, I played all sports but especially loved football and cricket. I have taken part in futsal tournaments, played cricket for Old Actonians and represented the 1st XI cricket team at St Benedict’s School, which gave me a strong sporting foundation from an early age. Over the years, I have built experience across a wide range of sporting environments including academy set ups, development centres and coaching programmes. This has helped me understand how to support children of different ages, abilities and personalities in the right way. I am FA Level 1 qualified, Futsal certified and First Aid in Football certified. I love teaching because sport has the power to shape confidence, character and resilience. My style is positive, encouraging and inclusive, making sure every child feels valued, supported and inspired to grow, whether they are completely new to sport or already developing at a strong level. Favourite Team: Manchester United (yes, we will finish in the top 4 this season)
Marlon Matthew
Head Sports Coach, family man & Chelsea fan
I am a dedicated sports coach and mentor with over 6 years of experience working with athletes across a variety of age groups and ability levels. My passion for sport and developing others led me into coaching, where I focus on helping individuals grow both in their performance and personal confidence. I hold FA coaching qualifications, futsal coaching qualifications, First Aid and Safeguarding certifications, as well as a Level 2 Gym Instructing qualification, Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, and Lifeguard certification. These qualifications allow me to support athletes not only in technical development but also in physical conditioning, safety, and overall wellbeing. Growing up, I played both football and rugby and had the honour of captaining my teams, which helped shape my leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. I also had the opportunity to train and learn under highly qualified football coaches, experiences that have strongly influenced my coaching philosophy and approach. My philosophy is simple: improvement comes through effort, commitment, and the right mindset. I aim to create a positive and challenging environment where players feel supported, motivated, and inspired to work hard, develop their skills, and reach their full potential.
Coach Abdulla
Football Coach
Abdulla brings energy and purpose to every session, always putting players’ needs above results. His coaching is rooted in player welfare, enjoyment, and long-term development — with the ultimate goal of giving players full autonomy on and off the pitch. His football journey began in 2018 at a grassroots club in West London, where he started as a volunteer and quickly rose through the ranks to become part of the leadership team. Now at Gunnersbury Eagles, Abdulla continues to adapt his style for every group, while staying true to his fundamentals: build from the back, play through the thirds, and back your wingers to go 1v1. Having worked under former professionals, he’s absorbed a wealth of experience and shaped a philosophy he proudly carries into every training session. Currently holding a Level 1/Introduction to Coaching award, he is determined to earn his UEFA C Licence in the near future. ⸻ Favourite Team: Manchester United Favourite Football Moment: Attending Old Trafford for the first time (Arsenal, 2024) Favourite Food: Olives (yes, really!) Interesting Fact: Bilingual Why Coaching? For love of the game and a drive to help players grow — not just as footballers, but as people.
Marcy
Football Coach
I am a football fanatic, a proud Chelsea supporter and someone who loves music, sport and family. I have several years of experience working with young children through Foxes FC, holiday camps and my weekly coaching role every Saturday at Znaniye Foundation sports classes at Brentside High School. My coaching style is fun, energetic and positive. I believe children learn best when they are smiling, laughing and fully enjoying themselves. I aim to make every child feel included, build their confidence and help them develop their skills in a safe and supportive environment.
