A summary
This half-term, we’re bringing together storytelling, movement, and sustainability in an action-packed creative camp! In the morning, students will design their own tabletop games with mayamada and Idea Design Hub, crafting characters and storylines that promote inclusivity and environmental awareness. They’ll then jump into a high-energy Hip-Hop class, building confidence, rhythm, and using movement to fully immerse themselves in the games. In the afternoon, they’ll bring their game worlds to life using recycled materials and stop-motion animation, creating and animating their own eco-friendly characters. What we'll do
Tabletop Game Design – Crafting Worlds & Characters Students will collaborate with mayamada Design and Idea Design Hub to create their own tabletop games. They’ll design characters, rules, and storylines that make their games exciting and immersive, while also exploring the creative process behind game development. Games shape how we see the world. Through our workshops, students will discuss why diverse characters and inclusive storytelling matter, learning how to design games that reflect different cultures, perspectives, and experiences—ensuring everyone feels seen and included. Hip-Hop – Movement, Expression & Culture Each day, students will take part in a high-energy Hip-Hop dance class, learning new moves while building confidence, coordination, and rhythm. More than just dance, Hip-Hop is a powerful form of expression, rooted in storytelling and creativity. Stop Motion Animation – Bringing Worlds to Life Using recycled and sustainable materials, students will create their own characters and environments, transforming their game concepts into animated stories. They’ll explore stop-motion techniques, developing patience, problem-solving skills, and a deeper appreciation for animation. A week of creativity, movement, and innovation, this camp is where students design, dance, and animate while learning about sustainability and representation in a fun and interactive way!
