A summary

Tots Forest School sessions are for parents with children who are pre-school. The sessions aim to bring together parents and their children for fun activities in the Forest. They are great for meeting other parents, making new friends and they provide a rich and varied environment which contributes to your child's sensory and cognitive development. The group runs weekly during term time on a Wednesday morning between 10am and 12pm. There will be stories, songs, a main activity and a campfire. Hot drinks are also provided. Shelters put up if it’s raining.

About your mentor

Forest School Leader and Founder.

I was introduced to Forest School by my partner, Sharon, when she started working in this field. Initially I would help her set up for her sessions. My role gradually grew as I started to help out at the sessions as well as working behind the scenes with the admin. In 2021 Sharon and I started Portsmouth Forest School CIC. One of our aims is to help people of all ages access and enjoy the benefits of being outdoors. The more I got involved with the business, the more I saw first hand how people benefited from the sessions, and this spiked my curiosity to learn more. I embarked on my Forest School training which I completed in 2023 and have not looked back. I have a history of working in the Health and Social Care Sector and worked in the health sector as a qualified nurse so have a lot of experience working with people who have additional support needs. Currently, alongside working at Portsmouth Forest School, I am also a massage therapist and a Somatics Movement Teacher which I practice part time.

Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.Block bookings - No refunds are given if you're unable to make a session within the block. Exception to this is only in the event of the session being cancelled by the mentor due to bad weather or illness. In this case a full refund for that session will be given. Single/Taster sessions/Woodland Play Days - No refunds given if cancelled within 48hours of the session date. Sessions cannot be rescheduled if within 48 hours of session date.
