Summer HAF Autism Family Club (4 - 24 year)

The Autism Family Holiday Club from 3rd–28th August, 10am–4pm, offering a safe, inclusive and supportive space for autistic children, young people and their families. Free for children and young people eligible for FREE School meals (FSM) benefits related.

A2ndvoice CIC is delivering this programme and in collaboration with ISENSORY CIC Battersea and Big Up Communities Nine Elms (Lambeth HAF) Non-SEND Provision, but has trained staff in SEN.

Outdoor Adventure Family Fun Day: Meet at Stewart's Road Adventure Playground
3:30pm–7:30pm

- Adventure Playground Activities – Explore climbing frames, swings, slides and obstacle challenges in a safe, supervised outdoor environment.

- Football Pitch (Concrete) – Enjoy football, ball games and team challenges on the outdoor concrete football pitch.

- Arts & Crafts – Get creative with painting, drawing, colouring, model making and themed craft activities.

- Water Activities – Cool off with supervised water play, splash games and fun outdoor activities. Please bring a towel and a change of clothes.

- Healthy Food Workshop – Learn about healthy eating through fun, hands-on food preparation, tasting and nutrition activities.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE:

Children's Safety
The safety of all children is our highest priority.

Please note that children who DO NOT meet the Leisure Centre's safety requirements will not be authorised to participate in the main pool activities. These rules have been set by the Leisure Centre Management and must be followed at all times.

We kindly ask that you do not challenge staff regarding these requirements, as we are unable to make exceptions. Anyone who attempts to bypass these rules will be refused entry and may not be permitted to attend future programmes.

Water safety is paramount.

Swimming for Fun – Main Pool (with or without carer)
* Ages: 8–24 years
* Children who are unable to swim, responsible adult to go into the pool.
* Maximum capacity been authorised to join session: 10 participants.

Swimming for Fun – Teaching Pool
* Ages: 4–12 years
* A parent or carer must accompany the child in the pool throughout the session.
* Maximum capacity: 15 participants.

Inflatable Obstacle Course Sessions (A competitive water sport, not a inflatable play on the water)
* Ages: 8–24 years
* Strong swimmers only.
* Registration is required.
* Mandatory to wear wristbands and listen to the debriefing from lifeguards
* Maximum capacity: 30 participants.

Art Workshop
* Parents and carers must remain with their child to support and assist with the activity.

Jewellery Making
* Parents and carers are welcome to participate; however, participation fees apply if they choose to join the activity.

If you book ANY of the water activities, you will automatically gain access to sessions in the Sports Hall. Waiting list will apply if swimming activities are FULLY BOOKED.

OUR OPERATIONAL MODEL: STAY & PLAY
To keep our community safe and running smoothly, we operate on a family-supported model. We are not a drop-off provision or childcare service. This means parents, legal guardians, or personal carers must stay on-site with their attendees for the whole session. It’s a wonderful space to connect with other disabled and neurodivergent families!

EXTENSION & OUTDOOR SPACES
We know that big sports halls and community halls can sometimes feel loud or overwhelming. Whenever a venue allows, we actively set up extra quiet zones: quieter sections away from noisy activities, depending on the venue. If your child needs a sensory break to decompress, you are welcome to escort them to these auxiliary quiet zones, where our staff will provide sensory bags, ear defenders, pop-up tents, and visual communication schedules.

SNACKS & SAFETY
- We provide allergen-safe food and require all families to use our designated Fragrance-Free Zone for healthy eating.
- To protect privacy under UK GDPR, we maintain strict data safety rules. If any minor incidents occur, we log them manually on paper Body Maps.

PHOTOS/VIDEOS
- Our sessional staff will only use official company phones or cameras, never personal mobile devices to take pictures.
- Wristbands or stickers to be handed on the day to prevent any dispute.-
- If you change your mind, tell the Session Lead, and we will delete the photo right away

If this is your first time attending our Autism Family Holiday Club.

1) There is free parking but need to make sure you register your car details in the leisure centre foyer for up to four hours.

If you do receive a parking fine, we are not responsible to paying the fine. We will have signage to remind you when you sign in.

2) If attending swimming with your SEND Child, please collect wristband when booking in.

3) If your child does require a hot meal, please notify us as soon as you can as this will help us with the orders with the caterer. A microwave will be available, to warm up food. Menu will be sent before 21st July for the caterers.

An autism inclusive family holiday programme providing activities catering for autistic children and young people, including siblings. Sessions include bouncy castle, swimming for fun (with carer only), inflatable water obstacle course, multi-sports, sensory and messy play, gaming, arts and crafts, creative dance, food workshops and free play activities.

Refreshments and hot healthy meals provided.

If your SEND child has physical disabilities, please let us know so we can adapt any of the activities for them to participate in. If they are wheelchair users, this will help to look at providing adapted activities for them. Such as accessible arts and crafts, musical sessions, tabletop activities, messy play and tactile activities, mindfulness, creative dancing and sensory space.
