What we'll do
Whilst this workshop isn’t suitable for children who require one-to-one support, we’re really excited to be running another Nutri Troops Animation Workshop, specially tailored for SEN students aged 5–11. Taking place at Willows School in Fishermead, Milton Keynes (MK6 2LP) on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th April from 9am to 1pm, the two-day workshop has been carefully designed to engage and support young people with special educational needs in a calm, creative and supportive environment. Led by a specialist SEN teacher, the sessions will guide children through the process of creating their own comic books and animations, drawing inspiration from the vibrant world of Nutri Troops. With a focus on visual learning and storytelling, the workshop has been thoughtfully structured to suit a wide range of learning styles, giving every child the chance to explore their imagination, express themselves, and develop new skills through drawing, design and teamwork. Adding a spark of inspiration, children will also have the opportunity to work with Peter Bakare, 2012 GB Olympian and creator of Nutri Troops, whose energy, encouragement and lived experience help bring the sessions to life. Both days include a healthy breakfast with cereal, fruit, yoghurt and toast, a nutritious mid-morning snack, and a delicious hot lunch freshly prepared by MK Cookery School. Spot prizes will be awarded for effort, teamwork and creativity, reinforcing the Nutri Troops message in a positive and inclusive way. Important Allergy Information: Please note that while we do our best to provide a safe environment, we cannot guarantee that other children won’t bring food containing nuts, and the kitchens we use may handle nuts. If your child has a severe allergy (e.g., to nuts), we can offer a £5 Sainsbury’s voucher or provide a £5 reimbursement so you can send a suitable packed lunch. We look forward to seeing you there!
