What we'll do
Whilst this workshop is not suitable for those who require one-to-one support, we’re delighted to be running another Nutri Troops Animation Workshop, specially created for SEN students aged 12–16. The workshop will take place at Willows School, Fishermead, Milton Keynes (MK6 2LP) on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th April, from 9am to 1pm. It has been carefully designed to engage and support young people with a range of special educational needs, providing a calm, creative space where they can feel safe, valued and inspired. Led by an experienced SEND teacher, students will be gently guided through the process of developing their own animations and comic books, using the vibrant world of Nutri Troops as a starting point. Sessions are structured to suit a variety of learning styles, with a strong focus on visual, practical and imaginative activities such as drawing, storyboarding and character design. Adding extra inspiration, participants will also have the chance to work directly with Peter Bakare, 2012 GB Olympian and creator of Nutri Troops. His energy, encouragement and relatable journey help young people build confidence, explore their creativity, and experience the joy of teamwork. The day includes a healthy breakfast with cereal, fruit, yoghurt and toast, a nutritious mid-morning snack, and a delicious hot lunch freshly prepared by MK Cookery School. Spot prizes will be awarded for effort, teamwork and creativity. Important Allergy Information: Please note that while we do our best to provide a safe environment, we cannot guarantee that other children won’t bring food containing nuts, and the kitchens we use may handle nuts. If your child has a severe allergy (e.g., to nuts), we can offer a £5 Sainsbury’s voucher or provide a £5 reimbursement so you can send a suitable packed lunch.
