What we'll do
The holiday club will be taking place at Woad Farm, Hanslope, Milton Keynes, MK19 7NE. Your map might suggest Woad Farm Bed and Breakfast, this is correct. Session's allow children and young people to engage up and close with animals, supporting with feeding, bedding, cleaning, grooming and engaging with the farm animals and smaller animals. We also have an amazing forest area which children have private access to, to build forts and dens, help prepare bird and squirrel feeders and generally enjoy being in an environment surrounded by nature. At the farm we have a range of animals including: Goats, Ducks, Sheep, Cows, Pigs, Rabbits, Chickens and Guinea pigs. Our SEND specific session has a small group focus, keeping staff ratios high to provide support. Our staff are specialised in supporting individuals who have experienced one of the following; (or similar) trauma, anxiety, low wellbeing or self esteem, neurodivergent diagnosis. Unfortunately due to the location of the farm, we are not wheelchair accessible. This session would not be suitable for children with a high level of need (for example, who would be unable follow instructions to keep themselves safe and participate in a small group setting). We do offer 1:1 session, please get in touch for more information. At this session, adults/carers are welcome to join if needed but this is not necessary. This session is funded as part of Milton Keynes City Council Holiday Activities and Food Programme to deliver sessions for school aged children in receipt of benefit-related Free School Meals (FSM), during the Spring school holidays in 2025

About your mentors
The Woad Farm Project
Getting young people outside with animals!
The Woad Farm Project is a not-for-profit farm, set up to support the wellbeing of children and young people in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. We have a particular focus on looked after or care-experienced children, but are driven by the opportunity to share the benefits of animals, nature and the outdoors to all children. Sessions leaders are fully DBS checked and First Aid trained too.
