About your mentor
Omega Sportz
Providing a safe space for fun
Our sessions are delivered by experienced, friendly coaches who are passionate about supporting children and young people to grow in confidence, stay active, and have fun in a safe environment. The Omega Sportz team includes qualified sports coaches, childcare practitioners, and enrichment leaders who are fully DBS-checked and trained in safeguarding, behaviour management, and inclusive practice. Coaches act as positive role models, encouraging teamwork, resilience, and respect while ensuring every child feels welcomed and supported. Activities are adapted to suit different ages, abilities, and needs, including children with SEND, so that everyone can participate and enjoy the programme. Our team works closely together to create a structured yet relaxed atmosphere where children can build new skills, make friends, and have a positive holiday experience.
What To Bring:
Omega Sportz advises children to bring the following: - A water bottle - Comfortable & suitable footwear for activities - Wear weather appropriate clothing, i.e. children are encouraged to take part in outdoor activities each day (weather permitting), therefore sunscreen should be applied before camp and we recommend a hat in hot weather. For cold and wet weather, we recommend children to wrap up warm and wear a coat. We do ask that all items are labelled so we can ensure your child goes back home with everything.
Learning aims
Aim 1
Social Skills & Emotional Wellbeing - Children will strengthen teamwork, communication, and resilience by taking part in group activities that encourage positive relationships, confidence-building, and respect for others.
Aim 2
Physical Health & Active Lifestyles - Children will develop confidence in movement and improve their physical wellbeing through daily sports, games, and active challenges, helping them build healthy habits and enjoy being active.
Aim 3
Healthy Eating & Life Skills - Children will increase their understanding of nutrition and healthy choices through food education, mealtime discussions, and practical activities that promote balanced lifestyles.
SEND
HAF clubs are inclusive for children with low levels of SEN and/or disability, who can participate in universal settings. We also have specialist programmes for those children and young people who require specialist support. Each Club will assess their suitability to provide sufficient support, based on your child/young person’s needs, on a case-by-case basis. Email us for any queries on HAF@newham.gov.uk
