A summary

At NovaMinds, children are welcomed into a calm, friendly, structured space designed for those with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and social or communication differences. Children are supported to settle at their own pace and are greeted warmly on arrival. Sessions include gentle starter activities, sensory regulation opportunities, hands-on science, creative arts, building activities, mindful movement, and quiet breakout options. Instructions are broken down clearly, visuals are used where helpful, and staff offer reassurance and tailored support throughout. Our aim is for every child to feel safe, understood, confident, and proud of what they have explored or created by the end of the session.

NovaMinds by VivaNova Care is a specialist provision designed specifically for children and young people with SEND. Through our Discovery & Design and Wonder Workshop programmes, we create calm, structured environments where children can explore, build, and learn in ways that feel safe and accessible to them. Our approach is grounded in neuroscience and an understanding of sensory regulation, emotional wellbeing, and individual learning differences. Sessions are thoughtfully designed to support children with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and communication needs, using hands-on STEM activities, creative exploration, and gentle, guided support. At NovaMinds, every child is met where they are. We prioritise predictability, flexibility, and personalised support, allowing children to engage at their own pace while building confidence, independence, and a sense of achievement. We are not a mainstream provision; we are a specialist space where SEND children are understood, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

How We Support Your Child

- Small groups, high support- high staff ratios and individual attention. - Calm, structured setting- predictable routine and visual timetables where helpful. - Sensory-aware environment- quiet regulation space, flexible seating, sensory resources, and gentle lighting where possible. - Flexible participation- children are encouraged and supported at their own pace. - Communication support- clear instructions, visual prompts, and patient repetition where needed. - Parent communication- we are happy to discuss your child’s needs before the session and provide brief feedback at pick-up.

Learning aims

Aim 1

Children build confidence, explore new ideas, and strengthen communication and social skills in a supportive environment.

Children build friendships, practise turn-taking, improve emotional regulation, and develop problem-solving skills.

Aim 3

Hands-on science, art and building boost curiosity and independence, helping children feel capable, proud and understood.

PAYMENTS

Please note: this is a self-funded specialist SEND session and is not part of the HAF-funded allocation. Children who are HAF-eligible are still very welcome to attend, but a paid booking is required for this session. If your child receives Direct Payments or Short Breaks funding, this session may be covered. We can provide invoices and supporting information to help. Places are limited to maintain safe staffing ratios and high levels of support. Early booking is recommended.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the session will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future session (subject to availability). Cancellations made within 48 hours of the session are non-refundable due to limited group spaces. However, we understand that children with additional needs may experience unexpected challenges. Where possible, we will offer a transfer to another date if we are able to fill the space. If NovaMinds needs to cancel a session for any reason, a full refund or transfer will be offered.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
