What we'll do
Come and join us for these 10 FREE sessions where young people can learn filmmaking skills with professional filmmakers. During the workshops the young people will take part in working together on a film that they will help to write, act, film, and edit. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to be creative and share ideas and skills with other young people. There is a maximum of 20 places available at each workshop. It is preferred if you child can attend every session due to making a film over the 10 sessions. In the sessions, the young people will learn about various film genres and how to write a story. They will then be giving the opportunity to write, film and edit their own film, either individually or in small groups. Session 1 - 2 will consist of coming up with ideas for the film. Script writing, learning about shot sizes and camera movement, filming vocabulary, acting for the screen, discussing props, costumes and roles people wish to undertake. You do NOT have to appear in front of the camera if you don't wish. Session 3 - 9 - Filming and Editing Session 10 - Filming and Editing and a screening for family. For continuity, we recommend you attend all 10 sessions for the best experience. At the end of the 10 workshops, the young people will receive an AQA unit award.
