What we'll do
Circus Skills Extravaganza: Unleash Your Inner Performer at Millom Recreation Centre! Join us for an exciting Circus Skills Extravaganza at Millom Recreation Centre, where participants will embark on a thrilling adventure to learn a variety of circus skills! Our workshop offers a fun and engaging atmosphere for children of all ages and abilities. Under the guidance of circus skills experts from Splats, who have been teaching and inspiring participants since 1991, children will explore an array of circus arts tailored to their skill level. Young ones will start with juggling scarves, while older children can advance to juggling balls and clubs. Participants will learn to: - Juggle Scarves: Ideal for young children, these slow-moving scarves help develop catching skills and build coordination. - Balance Peacock Feathers: A delightful challenge that encourages focus and creativity as they explore balancing on fingers, arms, and even noses! - Juggle Balls: Teaching the essential movement patterns of juggling while fostering a relaxed learning environment. - Spin Plates: Engage in plate spinning with adaptable challenges for all abilities, promoting teamwork and dexterity. - Throw and Catch Diabolos and Flower Sticks: Perfect for older children, these activities teach essential timing and technique. - Twirl with Ribbons and Poi: Enhance dance and movement skills while mastering coordination through rhythmic activities. - Balance on Stilts: An exhilarating way to develop balance and confidence while having fun competing with peers. - Pedal Go: A safe and easy balancing prop, perfect for younger children to learn the basics while having fun in a race! The Circus Skills Extravaganza is more than just a workshop; it’s an opportunity for children to challenge themselves, foster teamwork, and build confidence as they learn and play together. Join us for a day of joy, creativity, and laughter, and discover that anything is achievable with the right attitude and support!
