A summary
At Make/Sense Theatre, we are so excited to bring our fully inclusive holiday clubs to Bracknell this Summer! We are proud to have a strong and experienced team who are able to cater for primary children of all ages and with all additional and medical needs. The holiday clubs we are running are on every Thursday and Friday of the summer holidays. PRIMARY SENSORY For primary aged children aged 4-11 who may have a diagnosis of ASD or similar and will benefit from a calm, sensory approach to a drama workshop. This is designed for those who struggle in a busy and loud environment but like interactive theatre, drama games, music and movement , messy play and song. The attendees of this group may require 1:1 support in order to engage with the activities, which we will be able to provide for a limited number of attendees. Please make sure you have included any diagnosed conditions and/or medical needs in your application for this session. Please note we are able to expertly support behavioural, medical, personal care and communication needs.
About your mentors
Make/Sense Theatre CIC
General Manager at Make/Sense Theatre
I am a qualified teacher who has worked in numerous SEN schools. I currently work as a SENCO in a mainstream primary school, as well as for Make/Sense Theatre. I love working at Make/Sense as it's so great meeting and working with so many amazing young people, especially helping them to find their voices, talents and friendships!
Karen Wallace-Jones
Artistic Director
I have a background in professional performing and SEN Education. I worked as the Head of Creative Arts/Drama teacher for 8 years at a SEN school and latterly a PRU before co-founding Make/Sense in January 2021. I am passionate about using drama to empower and inspire young people with SEN and SEMH, as well as providing alternative pathways into the arts.
Izzy Jacobs
Holiday Club Coordinator
I am currently doing a BA (hons) in Primary Education at Reading University having previously been a primary school TA. I have worked for Make/Sense for three years as a Lead Dance and Drama practitioner and have always loved and studied the Performing Arts.
