What we'll do
Jumping Bean's HAF 2025 programme will be serving up a menu of different activities both indoors and out. An example of these planned are: varied arts & crafts, sports & team games, beach & forest school activities, trips to the local park and woods. Plus outings throughout the year such as: Eastbourne Miniature Railway, Paradise Park, Bowling, Knockhatch etc. Every HAF session includes drinks, snacks and lunch. There is an emphasis on healthy food, trying different food types and even helping cook preparing our meals, for any budding chefs out there. But most importantly having FUN in the holidays with our experienced team of playworkers! ***This activity has been funded through the Department for Education’s (DfE) Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme and coordinated by East Sussex County Council. Fully funded places are available for young people eligible for benefits-related free school meals. This eligibility criteria has been defined by the DfE. Additionally young people in several other target cohorts can attend funded places, such as those with SEND or Looked After Children (LAC). Please note, eligibility will be confirmed as part of the booking process.***

Jumping Beans began its journey as a nursery in Hampden Park, Eastbourne, and has been at the heart of the community since its establishment as a registered charity in 1993. Initially operating from a church hall on The Broadway, it relocated to its current home within Parkland Infant School in 2008. Managed by a dedicated volunteer Board of Trustees and Committee, Jumping Beans is committed to providing high-quality childcare and continually developing its services to support local families. In 2023, the Trustees appointed a Director to expand the charity’s reach, enabling Jumping Beans to offer a wider range of community services. One such initiative is the HAF program, which provides school holiday activities for children aged 7–11. Jumping Beans vision is "empowering future generations by nurturing potential". We do this by creating a nurturing community where every child has the opportunity to grow and thrive in their own time. Our passionate and experienced team feels privileged to be part of each child's unique journey.

I have over 25 years experience working to improve outcomes for Children, Young People and their families. Although my job roles, interest and ambition to do this has evolved over time, the reason I work in this field has remained the same. I believe every child matters and every child should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential - whilst having fun and making memories along the way! I love leading our experienced Jumping Beans HAF team as well as arts & crafts, team games we get outside whatever the weather. We have forest and beach school days where as well as having fun we are learning in a variety of outdoor settings!
