Also we will be planting our very own sunflowers, at the end of the programme the person with the biggest sunflower wins and amazing prize. Tuesday 7th April SEND cooking workshop (11am - 2pm) Only 6 spaces! We will go shopping for ingredients then go back to the ROYALS to cook a delicious dish then all sit down to eat together. You will be given the recipe sheet to take home Wednesday, 8th April | The ROYALS (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) Master the Kitchen: Take control of the kitchen and learn hands-on, practical cooking skills as you prep and cook your very own lunch! You'll then channel work on a Circus-themed art project that you can take home and show off. You can bring it back for our Family fun day on Sunday 12th April. ROYALS Youth Centre
ROYALS Youth Centre
The ROYALS Youth Centre: Empowering Rainham’s Youth Since 1993 Our History, Back in 1993, recognizing rising levels of anti-social behavior among some young people in the area and a lack of engaging community activities, a dedicated group of locals formed the Rainham Organisers for Youth Activity Leaders—now proudly known as the ROYALS. The initiative quickly gained momentum, and in April 1994, the ROYALS officially became a registered charity. Shortly after, in July 1994, the London Borough of Havering recognized the vital need for this project and agreed to put a piece of land at our disposal for a dedicated youth club to be built. Our Home and Facilities Today, the ROYALS operates out of a purpose-built, three-story building situated right at the heart of Rainham Village. With easy access and excellent transport links, it has become a well-known and beloved landmark within the community. As our community grew, so did we. On July 18, 2015, we officially opened a major third-floor extension. This expansion equipped the centre with modern amenities designed to support our youth and local groups, including a fully fitted internet suite, a kitchen, updated washrooms, a dedicated business suite, and four large storage units. What We Do The ROYALS is a bustling hub of activity that currently serves as a home to over 20 local community groups. We host a wide and vibrant variety of sessions directly inside the centre, ensuring there is something for everyone. Our regular activities include: The Youth Club: A cornerstone of our centre, providing a fun and engaging space to hang out. Active Sessions: High-energy dance classes and disciplined karate training. ...and much more: From skill-building workshops to casual social events. Our Community Impact Over the decades, our success has led to a borough-wide reputation as a premier centre that attracts large numbers of young people every single week. Above all, the ROYALS remains true to its founding mission: providing a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for young people to engage in contemporary activities that are relevant to their needs and their futures.
