What we'll do
Using the wonderful location of Earsham Scout Hut, Earthwake will provide a huge range of activities, allowing young people freedom and choice. With a child and teen-centred approach, the day will be flexible and adaptable; whilst encouraging participants to try new things; become involved, work as teams and learn from everyone present. Activities will include: • DIY Insect Home projects – use discarded pallet wood, old tiles, bricks, pipes etc to make small insect homes to take back to their gardens. Using hand tools with supervising adults, children will make unique structures for different insects. • Greenwood projects – using sycamore and willow to make their own designs from a fresh cut source of wood. Children will use a draw knife, small hand knife, peelers, string, rope and markers to personalise their creations. • Shelter building – opportunities to build a base for group activity or a space for quiet time. Learn knot skills, collect sticks and branches and use poles and tarpaulins. • Walk to the River Waveney - We will facilitate exploring the wider area in small groups. They can set a treasure route or geocache system for others to follow along the the public footpaths to wider locations. • Self-led hide and seek and other field games – an adjacent field is suitable for ball games and group games. We will set up a balance trail between trees using strap lines. • Art & craft projects - using natural and art materials to make dream catchers, journey sticks, decorated walking poles and more We encourage the enjoyment of being together, outside. Our site gives us access to toilet facilities, an inside, warm space (if we were to require it), safe grounds and wild spaces to play in and explore. The meadow next door is accessible for runaround games and free play. Earsham Scout Hut is close to Bungay and is easily accessible from Harleston, Halesworth and Beccles and the surrounding villages. All food (lunch and snacks) is included. We offer variety and choice. If the weather and group allows, we will cook outside, providing hot food by cooking on the fire and on camping gas stoves. Healthy eating and trying new foods is encouraged, in a very gentle and sensitive way, with a 'taste it, try it' table. If you would be interested in arranging for your child to walk from The Buttercross, Bungay, we will have staff available to meet a group and walk safely with them to the Scout Hut. Staff will then walk back with them at the end of the session. Please message on booking, to indicate your interest in this.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but, as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend, so that your place can be offered to someone else. Paid places will be considered for a refund, if enough notice is given, and the place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
