A summary
Summer holiday fun: Join us for our beach volleyball session lead by a Sussex Volleyball Coach. Beach volleyball is a great way to embrace our beautiful beach, enjoy the outdoors all whilst having a fun workout and meeting new people. This session takes place on the sand, therefore, the games is played barefoot. Please ensure you wear suitable clothing to play in and bring a bottle of water. The beach volleyball court is on the beach opposite Hastings Miniature Golf. There is a pay and display car park next to the court and public toilets are close by. Everyone welcome, don’t worry if you haven’t got any experience, just pop along and give it a try. Sliding ticket prices for 2025 We believe everyone should have access to exercise and it shouldn’t be a luxury or privilege. Therefore, to ensure our sessions are accessible to everyone, we are excited to introduce a new sliding ticket system on all our Active Hastings sessions, so you can choose what you can afford to pay. The sliding ticket system will give you the opportunity to choose from three ticket options: £3: Suggested ticket price To support the running costs of the class and to keep the session going £2: A little helping hand Don't let cost be a barrier, have a lower price ticket if you need to Free ticket: Need it on us For people on low income and benefits. Our free ticket option will work on a trust basis, and we hope people who can, will pay for the suggested or little helping hand ticket; leaving the free ticket option for people who need them. Active Hastings
Physical activity sessions for everyone!
Active Hastings is an externally funded partnership project between Hastings Borough Council and East Sussex County Council Public Health. We have been working in partnership since 2006 to give local residents easy, fun ways to get their everyday dose of physical activity. It only takes 150 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity each week for adults and 60 minutes every day for children to benefit your health, both mental and physical. You can even break it down into 10 minute slots! All of our team are experienced sports coaches, fitness instructors and play workers, who are passionate about working with people of all ages in Hastings and St Leonards. We run free or low cost sessions throughout the year, as well as holiday activities as part of the Holiday Activity and Food programme.

Love volleyball so much I just keep on going!
I started playing volleyball when I joined the Fire Service in 1981. The TEAM ethos parallel's the Fire Service team ethic superbly. The volleyball community is a big family which is great to be part of. I play primarily indoor's but enjoy beach and playing outdoor tournaments. I have played at Local, County, District/Region and National League levels. I am a qualified Volleyball England (VE) Coach & Referee. Plus the current Chairperson & Head Coach with Eastbourne Volleyball Club (EVC). Having gained so much from playing volleyball I feel that I want others to learn & enjoy what it can give you. My philosophy is to always try something new, develop & challenge yourself but always enjoy it and have FUN!
