A summary
Our Swim Crash Courses are the perfect opportunity for 11–14 year-olds who want to build on their existing swimming ability in a fun, supportive and encouraging small-group environment. Whether your child is looking to improve their technique, grow in confidence, or simply feel safer in the water, this programme is designed to help them take the next step. Each child will take part in 8 focused lessons over 2 weeks, with structured sessions that develop key swimming skills including stroke technique, water confidence, and essential water safety knowledge. Our experienced instructors provide guidance, ensuring every swimmer receives the attention and support they need to progress. These sessions are ideal for children who can already travel 5–10 metres independently in the water and have some initial confidence. The course provides a fantastic opportunity to strengthen skills and develop lifelong water safety awareness — all in a positive and welcoming environment.

Active Leicester encompasses all sports in the city. We have seven leisure centres with swimming pools and gyms; one climbing wall; one athletics track; one golf facility and several dedicated football pitches.
Useful infomration
This programme is delivered as a complete 8-session course across two weeks. To ensure consistent progress and the best learning experience, sessions must be booked as a full course — individual dates cannot be selected. Sessions will run on weekdays from 10:00am–10:45am during the Easter holidays, excluding Good Friday and Easter Monday. Please ensure your child is available to attend all scheduled dates to gain the full benefit of the course. As part of the HAF offer, children will also receive a food voucher to support healthy eating during the programme. The voucher is equivalent to four days’ worth of healthy lunch-type meals and will be issued during the course.
