What we'll do
Day 4 – Animal Encounter, Arts & Crafts, Sports, Nature Detective Day 4 will provide a rich enrichment experience combining learning, creativity and physical activity. Children will take part in a supervised animal encounter session delivered by a licensed and insured animal education provider. The session will introduce children to a varied selection of small mammals, reptiles and invertebrates, offering opportunities to learn about animal habitats, behaviours, diets and responsible care. Animals may include rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, reptiles such as bearded dragons and snakes, tortoises and invertebrates, alongside educational resources such as snake skins and feeding materials. All interactions will be carefully managed, with clear guidance provided to children to ensure safety, respect for animals and positive engagement. Sessions will be delivered in appropriately sized groups with close supervision at all times. We will also deliver a Nature detective session / workshop entailing bug hunting and bird spotting/animal tracks/tree and plant iD. Every child to create a journal. Alongside the animal encounter, children will take part in arts and crafts activities, allowing them to reflect on what they have learned through creative expression while developing fine motor skills and confidence. The day will also include structured sports and physical activities, promoting movement, teamwork and wellbeing. All activities will be delivered in a safe, inclusive environment with suitable staffing ratios and safeguarding procedures in place throughout the day.
